Web App Updates: July Recap
Another month, another flurry of new updates and improvements. Here’s what’s new on our web app from this month, in case you missed it.
Cropping images: Looking at the big picture
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but your message gets cut short if the picture isn’t what you want it to look like. You can now crop and adjust images for either list cover photos or list items by following these steps:
- Select an image by uploading, dragging-dropping, or scraping a web link.
- Click on the camera icon and then hit ‘Adjust’.
- Crop and select the portion of the image you would like to focus on.
- Click on the checkmark button and bam! You can re-adjust or replace the image at any time.
Here’s an example of an image that is in the middle of being cropped while a user is in list editing mode:
Slideshow box: A new way to view your list
When people view a list you have created for the first time, we want to make sure your list is presented in a way that showcases it at its finest. Here’s what you need to know:
- When you go in to view a list, it will appear as a slideshow.
- You can view the item details as you would in the feed – scroll through it by clicking on the arrows to navigate back and forth.
- To exit this mode and return to list view, click anywhere outside the slideshow or click on ‘close’.
- To toggle back to this slideshow, simply click on the ‘Carousel View’ icon (the first icon on the left).
Here’s an example of a list as it would appear in slideshow mode within Quietly.
Web links in lists: More meta-data? No problem
Attention to detail goes a long way, especially when it comes to enriching the media included in your list. You can now hyperlink text that appears in your list items. Here’s how:
- Add a new item to one of your lists (as you usually would)
- Select the text you would like to hyperlink.
- A small text box will appear. Paste or type in the web link here.
- When you are ready to add the link, press ‘OK’.
- Continue making any changes to your list item and Save once you’re all finished.
